SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
The Scholastic Book Fair is almost here! The book fair helps Didion in a few ways. The proceeds from the bok fair are the main funding source for new books for the library. The Spring 2023 book fair earned our school 140 new books! You will also have the opportunity to purchase books for your child’s classroom by buying something from your teacher’s wish basket. Attending a parent conference? Your child is welcome to browse the book fair while you are in the classroom! So come out and get some great reads for home while supporting literacy here at school.

Tuesday, October 31st is also our Literary/Storybook Character Costume dress-up day. Students are invited to wear costumes to school of their favorite storybook or literary character. Students need to be able to manage their costumes by themselves (take on and off, be able to use the restroom, etc.).
We’ll also have a parade for K-6 out on the track starting at 1:20 pm. Parents and families are welcome to attend to see all of our students parading around the track.

PARENTSQUARE COMMUNICATION
By now, you have likely noticed that the majority of the district’s central communication to families is coming via the ParentSquare communication platform. Some sites, including Didion, have the opportunity to pilot ParentSquare as a communication tool as well. You can expect to see communication from me in the coming weeks and months through ParentSquare as we transition to the new tool. In the meantime, please watch this video to learn more about ParentSquare for parents.
