HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

September 15th through October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month, and a chance for us to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements, contributions, and history of our Latino and Hispanic communities. Here is a resource from the Sac Public Library that includes links to local events, like bilingual storytimes at neighborhood libraries, as well as links to local community organizations. Here is a wonderful additional resource from the Smithsonian Institution to learn more about Latino identity and historical legacies that enrich communities and continue to shape our nation.

DYNAMIC DRAGONS AND MONTHLY CHARACTER TRAIT

Congratulations to our September Dynamic Dragons for showing their collaboration skills and for always working hard and being kind. Our September Dynamic Dragons and Middle School Students of the Month will be acknowledged during blacktop announcements on Monday, October 2nd. In the month of October, our students will be learning about confidence. Families can support their child’s learning about this important character trait by referencing this resource

FALL PICTURE DAY

Fall picture day is Tuesday, October 3rd.

TRAFFIC SAFETY

I want to send a huge THANK YOU to our team of crosswalk volunteers. We all appreciate your help and commitment to keeping our students safe each morning and afternoon.

Parents and families, I need to ask for your continued patience and care as you drive throughout the neighborhood around Didion. Please drive slowly, particularly as you approach intersections and crosswalks. Exercise patience and calm as you find parking away from the school side of Harmon Drive (which is a loading zone), and while avoiding blocking the driveways of our neighbors. The safety of our students is a shared responsibility for our entire community.
