Before and After School Care Options

Overview

4th R and The Center: Didion families have two after-school childcare options available to them. Please see below for information about the fee-based 4th R program and the Center’s free Expanded Learning program. Priority for acceptance for the free Expanded Learning program is given to students in foster care, students experiencing homelessness, English Language Learners, students receiving Special Ed services and students experiencing disengagement. If there is extra space in the program after priority groups are accommodated, open slots will be prioritized based on parent/guardian’s application submission date and time.

What is ELP?

The Expanded Learning program is a free after-school time program funded in partnership with the State of California, Sacramento City Unified School District and Community-based organization. The mission of our expanded learning programs is to provide innovative, youth-driven, high quality out-of-school-time opportunities that include building school-community partnerships, engaging families to participate in their children’s learning, and learning through project-based enrichment that complements the school day.
