Happy New Year, Didion Families!

Just a few quick reminders:

Our return to school from Winter Break is tomorrow, Monday, January 9th. Please take note of the District’s message about the possible impact of the weather and power outages on our schools in this message: https://www.scusd.edu/e-connections-post/weather-impact. If there are more updates about how the weather may impact school schedules, you can expect direct communication from the district later this evening.

Heavy rain and strong winds are in the forecast for the next few days. Please make sure to dress your child appropriately for school, and exercise extreme caution when driving near the school. Under normal conditions, we need all drivers to drive slowly and carefully both directly in front of the school, and past each of the crosswalks. Speeding up between or beyond the crosswalks puts everyone in danger. In rainy, foggy, and/or windy conditions, we need drivers to drive with even more care. Nothing is more important than the safety of our children, and we need all drivers to be alert and aware in the entire neighborhood near Didion. Thank you for sharing these important reminders with all of the drivers in your family who are assisting with daily drop-offs and pick-ups.

The weather forecast for this week likely means we will be spending many recesses and lunch periods indoors. Please make sure to keep your child home if they are ill.

Indoor masking will not be required, but strongly encouraged when we return to school tomorrow. For more information, read this post: https://www.scusd.edu/e-connections-post/sacramento-county-cdc-community-level-update-masks-strongly-recommended

Thank you and see you in the morning!
