Good evening, Didion families,

DRAGON DASH FUNDRAISER AND RACE DAY

We have less than one week remaining for our Dragon Dash Fundraiser , which is our PTA’s primary fundraiser for the entire school year! The Dragon Dash helps to fund our literacy/reading intervention program, school field trips, direct classroom support, art with Ms. Ellen, music with Mrs. Chambers, and so much more. Currently, we have only raised approximately 26% of our $65,000 goal! The good news is that we’ve reached our next school-wide incentive ($20,000), so our students had a “rockin recess” with music today and will have it again on Monday. If we reach the next fundraising milestone of $30,000, we’ll have a pajama day! And don’t forget, if we reach our $65,000 goal, I’m climbing into a dunk tank!

The actual Dragon Dash race will be next Thursday, November 10th. We’ll share out the race schedule separately, but please mark your calendars in the meantime. It will be a fun morning for our students, and parents and families members are encouraged to come onto campus to cheer on our Dragons.

Just as a reminder that students can earn individual prizes for collecting pledges too! If you haven’t already registered your student, please do so today by visiting this link: http://tinyurl.com/DragonDash2022. Once your student is registered, you can start collecting pledges. I’m not sure I want to fall into an icy cold dunk tank…but I’ll gladly do it if it means that we’ve hit our goal to be able to fund all of the amazing programs and opportunities that the PTA supports for our amazing kiddos. Let’s do this, Didion!!

PTA MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

The November PTA Newsletter just dropped! It’s full of great information and updates about all things Didion! Check it out by following THIS LINK !

WEATHER, TRAFFIC, SAFETY

As the weather gets colder, please remember to send your child in layers and to write their names on the inside of their jackets somewhere. We will continue to eat outside as much as possible throughout the winter, but there will be times when we will need to move some or all students inside the cafeteria to eat. Also, with more rain on the forecast, please make sure to take extra care when driving near the school. Additionally, please remember that Harmon Drive in front of the school is a loading zone – cars should not be parked unattended there during morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up.

MAKE-UP PICTURE DAY

Make-up Picture Day for students who were absent on Picture Day, or for families who ordered re-takes, is on Tuesday, November 8th.

LOST AND FOUND

Please check out our overflowing lost and found racks. They are located outside of the cafeteria, near the shade structure. Lost items that are not claimed will be donated after November 11th.
